During Children’s Month, we visited the Casa Hogar de la Niña y la Joven (Children’s Home) in the city of Querétaro and were filled with energy after meeting these 16 girls, brimming with joy and dreams.

This is a place where girls and young women arrive for various reasons and are welcomed with great love by “Tía” (Aunt), as they call their caregiver, who guides and supports them daily with affection.

We visited this children’s home intending to spend an afternoon with these girls, aged between 6 and 17. We sat around a long table in the home’s courtyard and were able to chat with them for a long time, learning about their daily lives.

We brought them personalized gifts according to their age, with clothing and personal items, and the Bodassa team handed them out by hand, calling each girl by name. It was very touching to see their surprised faces when their names were called.

The main support for this children’s home is the community’s donations, both monetary and in-kind.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our donation campaigns, which made this project, filled with love for these wonderful little girls, possible.

It was incredible to receive so much support from our community, who sent us new clothes and shoes, as well as personal and hygiene items.
