We decided to visit the Casita de San José nursing home in San Juan del Río, Querétaro, and it has definitely been one of the most beautiful social projects we’ve undertaken in 2023.
We met these wonderful elderly people, full of stories to tell and share; and although some of the stories they told us were heartbreaking and very moving, we loved being able to give them a whole day to listen to them and get to know them.
We brought groceries to support this nursing home, whose main source of funding comes from community donations; but the most valuable thing was that our team helped with the daily kitchen tasks, preparing the food and assisting with service during mealtimes.
Afterward, we stayed to do drawing activities with them and get to know them personally.
This nursing home houses more than 30 elderly residents who, for various reasons, cannot be with their families (if they have any). Many of them are unable to walk and therefore require special attention for mobility, hygiene, and care.
It was a wonderful experience for our entire team, and we thank the entire Bodassa community of clients and suppliers for their participation and enthusiasm in our food donation drives.
